BTS does more than give fans “Permission to Dance” – they challenge ARMY to hit the dance floor! Just hours after releasing their last song and video on Friday July 9, the septet invited everyone to show off their moves.
“#PermissiontoDance Challenge only on @YouTube #Shorts,” the group tweeted through one of their official accounts. (The challenge sounds a bit more poetic in the Korean text of the tweet, which translates to, “Are you ready to immerse yourself to the beat of your heart?”) In the accompanying video, BTS reveals the moves they are making. want to see people groove out. And of course, they came straight from the visual for “Permission to Dance”, which was co-written by Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and Ed Sheeran, and is included on the CD single “Butter”.
In the clip of the 15-second challenge, the camera briefly focuses on each member of the group, showing the movements up close as the choir performs. It ends with the hashtag of the challenge. For ARMY members who might need a little more guidance, RM, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jung Kook, Jimin, and Suga do the same dance in what appears to be an additional clip after the conclusion. from the official clip.
While the moves are relatively straightforward (especially for a group familiar with nail choreography), BTS gives ARMY some time to practice and perfect their dance. According to the group’s tweet, the “Permission to Dance” challenge officially kicks off on July 23.
Check out the challenge and the music videos below, and as BTS advises in their new song, “just keep the vibe” and “let’s do it right”!
