Dance battle with a twist – Cinema express

Shaam, Ineya and Abhirami Venkatachalam will be working on a new project. Additionally, they will be joined by Khusboo and choreographer Brinda. No, it’s not for a new movie or web series. Stars will reach every Tamil household through Colors Tamil’s new dance reality program, Dance against dance season 2.

Shaam, Ineya, Abhirami and Sridhar master will indeed manage the team of talents competing against each other. “It’s more like the IPL or the Champions League. We analyze the strengths and weaknesses of our talents and choose the right ones for the face-off,” Shaam clarifies. He feels that the show’s production value is up to international standards. “I’ve judged many shows before, but this show is something else. I’m sure it will be a trailblazer.”

Abhirami gets candid and shares that she was a victim of partial treatment in some reality programs she was a part of when she started her career. “Newcomers are not treated well on the sets, but this is the first time that I have had equal treatment, despite the presence of big stars like Khusboo madame.” Ineya, meanwhile, shares that the contestants’ stories have inspired her. “Many of the contestants come from modest backgrounds and they have struggled against multiple obstacles to get here. Seeing them give their all for dance pushes me to do more. That’s why I think it’s necessary for a show to present the personal struggles of participants.”

It’s often thought that being part of TV shows takes away the exclusivity of the stars, but Abhirami says it’s the other way around. “Television takes us directly to the masses. Families who can’t make it to the movies every week can watch us from the comfort of their homes. When an OTT show or series is successful, it becomes part of our portfolio.” Shaam supports his opinion. “It’s a competitive industry and actors have to learn to adapt. With a pandemic still here, home entertainment is here to stay. It’s time for us all to embrace it.”

Dance Against Dance Season 2 premieres Saturday, October 23 and airs weekends at 7:30 p.m.
