I was just wondering what my style is. I'm still pretty new to dancing so I don't know if my style would really be considered liquid or waving or popping or if it's Elsewhere's style or Skywalker's or what... Anyways... here's my latest freestyle vid

EDIT: Here's a myspacevid until the youtube video gets up http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1777145254

The video is still small but I managed to make it a little bigger. I also tried a little different lighting. Anyways, I think this is far better than the last one.

YO BRallit!

That style you are doing would be called Waving, you have a tiny bit of that "liquid" style but your main ideas are waving :-)

I think this clip is much better than your last too, keep practicing and get them waves down!!

here is a good example of some "traces" that you are doing, try to follow the wave patterns as closely as you can and go through them all the way (meaning when you wave from ur hands, make sure you wave through to your elbow, shoulder, neck , chest, belly, hip, knee, to the feet, then back up, or out of your body somewhere else)

Here is a good refference :

Sup Brallit, like Tetris said, the main style I see you doing is waving, a style that both Elsewhere and Skywalker both do a lot of. I notice you like to try and get loose, create your waves and use traces with them as well, as Tetris mentioned.

When tracing a wave, one hand serves as the "controller" that directs where the wave is going to go. Slow down your traces a bit, slowing it down compliments the illusion your trying to create. You like to trace over your head and then thru your body, by slowing it down your letting it travel more and also forces you to get certain areas that you are rushing thru even more fluid.

When waving, the shoulders are very crucial. Learn to exagerrate them a bit more, it will also show you ways to exaggerate the chest movement.

Work on keeping the illusion of the wave remain when you go low, especially with the legs.

What makes Elsewhere and Skywalker look so unhuman is the level of gracelfullness they both approach thier dance with. Keep practicing bro, and keep working on getting cleaner and cleaner with your waving. While practicing that you will also discover other directions to take your waves.

Peace and much Respect

Hey thanks both for your tips/help. I don't have any friends who are really into this kind of dance (they're all glowstickers :( ) so I really appreciate all the help so I can continue to get better. I'll keep practicing and keep those things in mind... and when I'm really confident, I'll post a Hi Qual vid someday hehehe
