Hi. I am a beginner popper. So I was looking at the sticky "The Geat List of Styles", and my question is, am i supposed to pick a couple of those styles and become really familiar with them (say waving and hitting), then learn all the move/technique down at the bottom? Then eventually put everything together to freestyle? Any tips would be appreciated.

I think it only benefits you to learn as many styles as you can. You'll definitely start to feel a connection with some styles over others but learning more will open your vocabulary. I wouldn't consider myself a tutter at all; it's not my forte. But I take some concepts from tutting and other styles and add them into my dance.
