Is the Online Battle idea a good one or a bad one?

It has its pluses and minuses. You get no ability to feedback from each other in moment and you lose the vibe and intensity of "being there", but at the same time not everyone around the world can "be there" everywhere all the time. Plus it might open up new possibilities with digital video editing and music, so battlers can use their own favorite tracks and create some mind blowing shit with adobe after effects or something to add new levels of expression on top of the dancing.

As far as i see netz battles cool i would also prefer reall one .. but as i stuck in place were it isnt an reality this is for me more motivation to get better to get on level i can compete.

Am all for it as it can bring more and more people together from around the world and evolve into somethin BIG. I would love to met you all in reall later on, but till than i dig this idea from beginin .. it popin batlin should not be just local game

undecided, battles should be in person but comparing clips to the same music i wouldnt say so much is a battle but could be a good competition kind of like wiggs.

Online battles are just too distant from the real deal.

Online competitions could be a good thing though, that is, each competitor dances to the same track within the same time range. Whoever interprets and expresses the music through their dancing skills the best wins. The criteria - musicality, funkiness, solid basic foundation, etc.

Yea, I dont completely agree with the online battling, but I have gotten quite a few requests mostly from ppl who dont have access to many other dancers.

I figured this will be a good benefit for those who are not fortunate like some of us that live in big cities where there are alot of poppers around.

Well if the "battlin" is the only case it could get more to said "competition" this way. Just radnom picked song (not too much known) for a month and let others to do their best ..than pool for it. I dotn see how this could harm this web in any case.

I am not from the poppin scene soo i could miss more important things in it ..but form me poppin isnt all about battlin its about poppin as a dance itself.

But all in all i can be wrong am new to this soo i will let other to decide.

I think it's a great idea. Of course a live battle is the best way to go, but this can't hurt, right? It's all in good fun anyway. This actually give me some motivation to practice, haha.

i agree with this for sure. i also agree w/ tronick in the way that u can edit your own shit.

but what if when peeps were having an online battle via videos they record if they only get one shot. (dont be shady bout this part now, dancing is all about growing)

so lets say u record a 1st or 2nd round on ur camera and u dont like it. SO WHAT!!!
POST THAT ISH!!! dont rerecord and cut and edit your shit. post all the fuck ups and all the good clean shit you came up with. its all good. the whole point of this forum is to get in touch and get help from other dancer is it not???

now im not saying its the best way to go about things. i know for a fact that when im with a group of dancers and their getting down. i get their energy and want to bust out my self.
its alot different if your isolated and got no one around. you cant get those positive vibes and that definitely is a negative side to dancing by yourself. but on the other hand "sometimes" you can come up with some pretty dope and creative shit when your by yourself. not saying i have in particular but i know theres heads out there that do.

so if ur gonna post video's and have an online battle, DO IT!
just do it proper, dont cheat, dont cut/paste/edit/and change up ur video's.
do ONE take, and one take only. like calculon, you do one take and one take only.

if anyone wants to. im down to online battle. hell itll be good practice and im damn sure ill get a shitload of critiques and criticizm. and i bet you'll be able to tell i only did one take..im no pro but i dont wanna make stress out of a fun hobby and past time.

anyways. thats my opinion.

There isn't any pressure.. and you can record as many sets as you like and post up one you're happy with. It's not a real battle at all.

i def think this is a good idea only cause maybe if you wanna battle someone who you know you wont be able to see, all you have to do is get a couple of judges that you both think are loyal and will vote truthfully. then make your vids and let the battle begin.. i would get down in this!

i think it will be good idea. specially for those who want to show himself to world.
i know its not exactly as live battle. but it fun - as other say- and i'm sure we will like it.
finally, in my opinion i think who can dance , can dance even in live or online battle because dance is feeling not moving on music.
