Hey Showtyme, good to finally see a clip of you~

I would say the problem with your video is that your not setting a steady speed before you make your speed change. The illusion of speed control comes from not the speed by it self but the timing and the speed before you make that speed change. You should work on a constant/steady speed of movement, then make that quick or slow mo speed change, that would help out your illusion more.
