Hey
How do you guys think it's best too practice for a beginner, use too practice like 5 minutes and then I stop, because I get so distracted after that. what do you guys do? Talking about doing it alone.
Many thanks

For me, my practice would be when i go out to a jam or a club or event, prolly 2-3 hours per day, 2-3 days a week~

i have been poppin 4 almost a year now, when i practise i always have 2 have music in my ear(earphone) i dont mind stereo but havin a earfone makes me feel and concerntrate on de music more, i usually practise for 2hours, every nyt if i can, if i hear a new song dat i digg then ill go for longtime! plus a mirror so i can see wat im doin but somtimes i like poppin in dark, u can just feel de song, but thats just me.

I bought some full length mirrors so i could watch myself. I would watch a video and pick one or two things to try, then just practice that. I found that by doing so, i tended to stand still when i was actually dancing, because i was used to standing in front of a mirror. I also found it awkard to dance without thr mirrors...i was used to being able to see what i was doing, but without the mirror it felt wierd.
Then i bought a video camera. i would just dance and see how it turned out. find things that i needed to work on, and just try to pick myself apart.
My biggest problem is that i don't have the time in my life to dedicate to dancing in order to be as good as i want. At least that is what i keep telling myself....
so for now, i practice hits in the car when i am driving. i practice everytime i go to the restroom at work for a minute or two...and i dance my @$$ off everytime i make it out to a club.
i have a long way to go.

i promise you, i'm one of the busiest, but i still find time to pop almost every other hour.
my suggestion... practice in the shower.. use the tiles as a grid
also, spend almost as much time visualizing yourself popping as you actually do physically.
last thing... few have the patience to do this, but stand in the mirror for 10 minutes to a song you love, and don't move...it's harder than you think.. but will give you discipline, and spawn new ideas.
after the 10 minutes.. walk away.
do that every day.

WTF!! that's the harshest form of discipline I ever did hear!?!?! ........I'd rather be stuck in a prison war camp
Anyway, if ever there's a day when I don't feel like dancin.... it takes only a split second to motivate myself when I put on my favoritest tracks (sometimes even save certain hot-hot tracks for the right occasion) & end up dancing so hard I've been known to back out on my other plans- hahaha
There are even certain songs that revive me after a night when I've been fully drained & thought I couldn't dance another step to save my life...
*it's all in the music*

i practice daily i dont go by time so much but by music i put on a mix of popping beats i hit every hit i canwithout repeating for one whole song then i wave for a song, tick, isolate and so on sometimes i just work on whatever i feel like doing such as boogaloo this makes it easier for me to focus on certain styles i also do pushups and situps for a song
this is for at home practice at our spot we have full mirrors all around there i practice new moves i session battle whatever and sometimes i b-boy as well or even lock jus how i do it helps build foundation first moves tricks crowd pleasers second
i cant imagine how would i practice hours and hours...by myself...

hahaha word...
but i've been practising this knew practise technique which i have recently employed.
Popping to a metronome.
It's alot harder then you think, because the metronome produces a very sharp and quick sound percisely to a particular beat you reaslise how off beat your pops have been all this time.
try it, pop on your metronome and you realsie that alot of the times you miss the beat slightly almost every time
