I've been popping for about half a year, and I know how to do the arm wave and the simple body wave where you just go from arms->shoulders->chest->crotch->legs and reverse, but there's a lot of guys who can isolate even more parts of their body when they're doing a body wave.

Here's an example of it. Watch Kei (blackshirt) at 1:31 :

I also see poppin john doing it often. I read somewhere that you can split your body into sections and then move each part into 4 points to increase isolation, but I can't find any videos on that so I'm having trouble figuring out how it works. Does anyone have any tips for learning this kind of bodywave?

Well after you know the basic wave, increasing the complexity of it comes with practice and experimentation.

You're right, you should split your body into sections and see how you can move a wave through your chest in different ways, or your legs, etc. It's not really a specific "4 points" which you need to memorize or something there are countless ways of which you can do this, just try new things and you will find your own.

I think a good place to start practicing this is your legs, it's the easiest to "section". Like the guy in the video, try putting one leg in front of the other so that you can send the wave down one leg and back up the other. There's something to experiment with. Try it out, make your own wave, you don't need no video tutorial for this ;)

I'll give you my personal bodywave (basic)
1. Finger Joints 2. Knuckles 3. Wrist 4. Elbow (twist) 5. Shoulders 6. Chest 7. Belly (little bit of a belly roll) 8. Hips 9. Knees 10. Knees (snap back)

Another thing to do is bring your body waves forward and backward. You mentioned poppin jon, thats one of the things he does. So start with the chest etc. but bring each body part backwards as you do it. Then going up bring it forward, it looks nice
