Where did you guys take locking class??

How did you guys learn locking at the beginning? youtube or classes?
I want to know are there locking classes in new york cuz I havn't seen many except jazzy's....and I really want to learn japan style, any suggestion of japan style locking class?

Japan style has developed as a result of Tony Go Go...he really helped influence the scene in japan when he moved there in the 80s

I know Tony will be teaching in Vegas this summer, I believe during the Hiphop International.....Hed be the best place to start

If you are in New York I know Stretch is doing Step Ya Game Up July 25 and theres always a great deal of dancers from Japan that show up, may also be a good place to start

I'm actually interested in this too, since I want to learn how to lock. I'm thinking about going by to Jazzy's class this saturday though to see if I like it.

Also, are there any free locking classes offered in the NYC area at all?


I've never danced before in my life, but after watching some locking vids on youtube I fell in love with the style. I figured I might as well take advantage of my time here in NY.
