yes sarah...like i stated..... even though the style / title of the dance is the same...everyone will have there own approach.... kinda like painting....the techiniques might be the same but everyone will have there own style or approach on that techinique..... same here..... i like to picture it like martial arts...there are many different styles but everyone will have there own approach or style if you will.... keep practicing....practice makes perfect... :)

depends on your definition of "own style"
cause i think mine is different than his^^
but then again my mindset might not be as deep as that tho..
but yea imo:
dancers who STAND OUT have their own style..
some ppl dont try to take it that far..instead of actually thinking, most ppl (well, in my area)
jus copy and paste..if u get what i mean

Check this, poppin has some basic techniques, some foundation, that you can use to develop your own style and advance other peoples stuff. Its like, instead of tracing some one elses drawing, you learn HOW to draw for yourself and draw your own shit. I hope the analogy works lol

Try looking up dimestop, isolation, hit/pop, fixed point. These are some of the really basic techniques used to create shit, like waves, gliding, tutting, etc. you can also look up waves, glides, tutting, etc here and on youtube, though i gotta say be careful about what you find on youtube (the internet in general, but west coast poppin is run by legit poppers lol so the info is mostly good) but you should be able to find tons of info.

If you choose to be honest with how you express yourself, you'll develop your own style. It's inevitable, because by default, no person is exactly the same as another. Don't think about it too much -- just dance for yourself.
