View Full Version : Foundation...
Is there any particular rules in regards to foundation moves? I know about the fresnel routine but are there loads more and are they really essential to learn or can you get away with making your own foundation moves yourself by watching others, etc?
Cheers

I look at it this way, it's foundation in every move you does in popping. Like learning the foundation of waves, tutting, snaking, boogaloo, etc. Basically it's learning the basic of that movement. Once you learn the basic of that movement then you start evolving off that and from that, you can create your foundation as a dancer mixed with your character, body, etc.
A lot of times what ever you start off learning first as a beginner that usely become your foundation as a dancer. I have noticed that from looking at older dancers.
P.S. it's just a dance, learn the basic of all the movements you like and from there you will be ok.

You want to always practice you basics of all your movements. I just wanted to add this because some people feel that once they have evolved they don't have to practice the basic of the movements. It's help clean up your dancing the better and better can do your movements.
