So I read Tetris' post in the congrats topic for the winners, so now we can discuss things to change/improve for the next event!
First off just let me say that I enjoyed the event all the way through. There was some bad heat there for a lil bit but it chilled out by the time the finals were over.
You know what....honestly there isn't a whole lot to improve on here that isn't plainly obvious. Because of the DJ being late as fuck the event was put on standstill until he showed up. This severely cut the time for the event down. What sux is that there was already a dj there but he wasn't prepared to set up his sound system because it was supposed to be on the other DJ to do that. So homie stood around and waited just like the rest of us. Finally the dj shows up and sets up. So i'd say use DJ Rod(rob) next time or someone more dependable cause thats nonsense for the EVENTS DJ to show up 2 hours late, we had people there from all over (not just los angeles) so to me that is a serious mark against that dj. I don't even care what his excuse is, that shit is unacceptable.
I have a few issues with the music played. Its not that I don't like what was played, but damn it seemed so much to me like every other BIG poppin jam that is thrown. Same funk tracks we have all heard 2 million times. And is it just me or was there hardly any locking tracks put down for the lockers? At least in the beginning of the comp i really noticed this.
The time limit for the battles was BS, but there was NOTHING that could be done about it. Once again I put full blame on the dj. So to Iceman, Tetris and everyone else who helped with the event, you did what you had to do and I feel that you made the only decision possible. I mean we even were lucky enough to continue the event past 10, they didn't have to allow this to happen, I was told that at 10pm we had to end it. I was still standing inside the doors of homeland at about midnight. To top it off I was chillin out by the walls in the back for another hour or so. Thank you guys for sticking to it and not shutting the event down!
Like i said there was so bad blood on the floor there for a bit. Ohh snap this is once again the dj's fault. Had the guy not showed up late, they wouldn't have had to put a time limit on the battles. the time limit itself is what caused the blood to be spilt.
BAH fire that dj.
Great event, always looking forward to the next one. Homeland is ill and its free! Just about EVERY popper from so cal rolled through, and it was good to see people from the community enjoying that shit as well! Once again big ups to Tetris, Iceman and all the people at Homeland that were able to make this event take place! Some of the most memorable battles I have seen took place last night!
does anyone feel there is anything else? cause honestly i think every issue that can be brought to life is a direct issue coming from the dj.
