Heya guys, just thought I'd introduce myself for those who care!

I'm a 28 year old dancer living in a small town in Sweden. I have not been popping for long, actually just for a year but I do take it dead serious and I have been drilling like a mad man so to speak!

During that time development has been good but the sad part is that I am actually the only guy here that practice it which makes it really hard to jam and get new inspiration, this makes me rely far to much on youtube for my own good but I try to keep it at a good level.

I do however need some help if any of you feel up for it and it is just a short description of some terms that I have come across during my visits to these forums, if anyone could help out that would be great!

I do know of the basic subgenres of popping (if you could call it that), Animation, ticking, tutting, strobing and such, what I wanna know is:

Dimestops:
Speed Control:
Fixed Points:

I am sure there are a TON of terms I have not come across yet but I feel the necesity to know some stuff if I'm going to be doing this to my best effort!

Also a discussiontopic, do you guys prefer bopping or popping your legs?

Thank you for your time!

dimestops and speed control go hand in hand. dimestops are merely stopping (and hitting if you wish) on a dime. b/w each dimestop you need speed control. for example, you are going to be moving multiple limbs at once, it's best to move them together at the same speed so to speak then have one go way faster than the other. there are definately exceptions to this "rule"

fixed points is moving your body around something you want to keep still. for example you could move around your fist, your head or your elbow.
