**Since Homeland popshop is now under new supervision, they are required to close all facilities at 10pm sharp. Please come in earlier to get your full time practice session.

There has also been a growing concern regarding safety at the park premises. Please be cautious when walking to your car and back, and also avoid walking away from the park recreation center. Although no dancers have had problems with the park for years, there has been some incidents that has taken place at the park. Please be cautious and we encourage you to come with a friend/partner or in a group.


**Monthly Meet ups - Every 1st Monday of the month!

Although the locals at homeland show up every monday to practice, this can be a benefit for those who travel far to get to homeland. This way it makes it worth your time to come down since more ppl will be coming through and getting down~

Hi everyone. Is this event still happening? I'm a freelance/newbie photographer and I'm trying to build my own personal portfolio. I was over on FSS but it seems like thier board isnt that active as it used to be back in the day when UTMOS was throwing tight sessions. I'd like to come one sometime in Janurary and take capture some photos.

Yeah, Homeland mos. def. still goes down every week (except for the next couple of weeks due to the holidays...)

You can most likely come through in mid Jan. and take pics, BUT I would be sure you clear that 1st with a.) City of Long Beach Parks and Rec. and b.) Iceman. Ice is the man behind the popshop and breaking sessions (on Tuesdays), and he's usually cool with people coming through esp. if they're journalists. But just make sure he's cool with it first...

Tetris can probably hook you up with his info....

oh, I dunno if you'd need release forms either for the people you'd be photographing, but it can't hurt to ask, right?

I was looking at their site and got a little confused. Which day is hiphop/breakin practice? monday or tuessday?

Completely free, all the time.

Mondays: Popping/Locking/Funkstyles Night-Pop Shop.

Tuesdays: Bboying (breaking) practice

Just be sure to get there before 10PM!

Locking Class on Monday Nights is in the small room to the side of the large, main room.

Yeah,you have to go to this place...I was there in January when I was in LA or 4 weeks and it was amazing...in this time there were not many but a few young talented poppers and the atmosphere was fantastic...I hope I can come again in 2009...

homeland is taken over by lockers. so if you lock its great. for popping they seem to be sprinkled in.

But poppers "sprinkled in" is based on Konfusion going there once. LOL

There are a good amount of both poppers and lockers~

Yeah, I love Homeland; I go there whenever I get a Monday open.

I live out in Fullerton / Anaheim, so if anyone wants to start some sessions that way other days of the week, hit me up.

Homeland is dope on Mondays, but sometimes there are too many bboys on Mondays for comfortable practice. So, my suggestion is get there when it starts (7 pm) and hold your spot down in the mirrors. It's a cool place and safe environment, besides what people may think.
