Graffiti Designs; for Computer

Hello,
I basically don't know anything about graffiti at all except for the fact that it looks effing cool and it's usually done with spray paint on any surface :).
I would like to know where to start looking for some basic guidelines/steps that would be useful. I don't think I'll be getting around to use spray paint and all, but I'd love to use it for graphic art designs.
I suppose a basic picture or how to start writing letters would be a nice place to start, but I'm not sure.
