Hi, guys-- I am from St. Louis, Missouri and I am looking to learn how to house dance.
I know there are barely any from St. Louis that house dance and teach it- so my question to you all is-- what EXACTLY is my backup plan.
should I get some DVD's by Terry Brooklyn and Caleaf and other House Dancers and learn from them? Or should I try to find dancers within other states bordering Missouri and drive the mileage and learn from them?
Is the DVD as good as real live training?
Is it a good teaching tool to developing me in the art of House Dancing?
I REALLY just love this dance and want to soak it up and retain it as thorough and as effectively as possible.
Thanks a lot guys...

Oh okay. Thanks, buddha stretch.
So learning the dance from dvd's is best for someone with my predicament, right?
This makes sense as the b-boyers, poppers and lockers from around here also had to learn from dvd's.
There just aren't that many options for those of us in the midwest looking to learn regional dances, besides taking a plane and flying. Which isnt even possible for the vast majority of us.

Well, if taking a class and talking to someone is the best place to start-- then all this does is take me back to the question in the original post. Who is it-- besides Chippa & Boogie IQ-- that a person from MO looking to learn house dance to get lessons from?
I could see if there were instructors in MO but i was just too lazy to go, or in Illinois where I can make the 2-hour drive, but all the way in NEW YORK?

Oh okay, Chippa. I hit you up on bboy.org, because I saw you online there last.
Maybe IQ knows some spots in Illinois.

I guess I should follow this one up with asking typically how many beginner sessions does one need to have in order to grab the "foundation" of learning what house dance is?
Does anyone else on here routinely fly to New York for lessons, and then build on their foundation?
