I think I've been living under a cultural dance rock, as I keep hearing these terms that today's dancers like to refer to themselves such as "DubStep", , BeatKill, Brain Bang.. and a whole lot of others-- but when asked to demonstrate... they look like they are just popping (albeit to a different type of music usually associated with popping (ie funk).
But can someone break this down for me and catch me up to steam in 2012. What are these terms and what do they mean? We have so many great styles of urban dance to have access to today-- i would love to understand some of these new forms being created. |

I would say me and my group of former skate-park friends have succeeded in creating the first SUB-urban style of street dance, DUPSTEPPIN'. Our style isn't as new as most people make it sound we created it around the late 2000's but thanks to youtube our dance was allowed to branch elsewhere. All though people say we are just utilizing Poppin moves, I have to remind those people that Poppin has also borrowed from other dances. Achilles,Hope that answers your question somewhat.
