8th Annual Focus Dance Competition - Aug 14 - Orange County, CA

We have some INCREDIBLE dancers that call Focus their home and it was our idea some 8 years ago to take one night a year to focus on them. Well this is their night. There are 3 categories (Breaking, Popping & Freestyle). If you are interested in competing we'd love to have you.

Preregistration is on a first come first serve basis.To sign up, email info@focus-oc.com with your name and category you'd like compete in. Walk on sign ups the night of will be accepted, space permitting. We usually limit it to about 20 spots per category.

The Focus DJs will be taking care of the musical selections from start to finish. We worked with all of our sponsors this year and we are making sure all of the dancers get hooked up this year + don't forget about the $500 in cash to the finalists!

The way this competition works is we will have all the dancers do a 30 second showcase round and our judges will narrow it down to TOP8 in each category. After the final 8 have been chosen we will randomly pair you against another dancer (in the same category) and it will be a battle bracket from then on out. 8 to 4 then 4 to your final 2 in each category and then of course your winners in each category. Dancers MUST arrive by 10pm to check in or their slot will be given up to someone on stand-by.

Judges include: Rion - (2011 Breaking winner), Toy Box (2011 Freestyle winner) & Butter (2011 Popping Finalist) + You! (Crowd response will decide tie breakers)

And to anyone that asks, why house music? i'll quote myself from 2 years ago, "The reason we hold this competition every year and play the music you hear in the videos is because of the wide range of dancers that come through every night and get down to HOUSE music. Poppers, Lockers, Waackers, BBoys/BGirls, Housers, etc. All styles getting down to the same music."
