Welcome to the westcoastpoppin forum.

Maine is a beautiful state; I stayed at Booth Bay Harbor once.

You've only been at it for 1 month - so you got a ways to go.

I would say just practice the basics for a while until it feels natural and you really don't even have to think about it.

Wait another 6 months or so and then post another video - I'm sure you will progress a lot.

Peace \ /

don't try to do waves to legs before you will get how to do simple arm- and bodywaves because if you can't do them then there won't be any visible effect.

You obviously enjoy this that you want to learn the dance so props to you for doing. Definitely get your foundation moves going. Waves, hits, etc.

Take your time with them. I see a lot of MTV music video or contemporary hiphop-ish influence in what you're doing. At one point around 2:45 it went better because you looked up for a bit. The looking down (bad habit for all of us and it does happen) does more harm than good. "I was trying to think about what to do next...." Yeah, I've used that and what happens is it LOOKS like you're thinking and taking away from your dancing. I tell folks who get nervous about folks watching them at circles, etc. is don't look back AT THEM (audience), look THROUGH THEM. Get in a zone.

Also, learn to use your space. You don't have anything around you to worry about knocking over...all the best reason to get down all over the place.

Keep on doin.
