Haha Yeah Tinman, that's my big ass mouth drowning out the music! Swore I wasn't going to be as loud as I'm known for but with these ladies, how can you control oneself???!

Yo Commander, YES, 31 years ago I DID see this kind of thing - Lady Casualistics, Midnight Persuasion Ladies...trying to remember other girl groups that were repping hard with strutting AND locking. San Francisco - CALIFORNIA HALL baby!!!

They were out there. It was a beautiful thing.

Hahahaha! I guess I'm racist, I meant four white girls getting down. The thing that made me post was seeing the one skinny chick come outta the background Shieldsing.

But you're right, I remember all the groups had a "Jr." crew and a female crew. And they all had "lady" in the name: "Lady Androids, Lady UFOs, etc."

LOL!!! I hear you. But in my time and where I hung out we was mixed too. Hispanic, Samoans, asians (some filipinos I thought were hispanic haha).

What I DID notice was the difference in feel and style based on race (guys/gals). Black groups had it down on the syncronized movements. WE ALL wanted that. Everytime a black group went up we KNEW we were in for something special. Hispanics and others had more of a gangsta feel to the dance. Many of the call outs and cutups I seen were amongst non-blacks. I think it's because they focused more on the performance aspect rather than building some street cred as a gunslinging solo dancer. That's not to say the brothers couldn't get down SOLO cause that would be a big f***ing lie. You COULDN'T DO those routines (and with that level of precision) if you didn't already know how to get down.

NOTE: Folks gotta realize, this was the 70's I'm talking about. RACE WAS an issue (f*** we're in 2009 and it still is for some). My comments using the term "blacks" is not meant to be derrogative by any means.

Hahaha listen to me going on!! This is about these beautiful ladies so I'mma get back on track. Another vid coming up REAL SOON!!!

The vibe and styles were SO different from city to city back then, I'm kinda remembering. For us in the east bay, it was 90% black dudes getting down and a few Fillipinos...who I thought was hispanic too lol. Ya'll had those crazy ass samoans too.

Doc, I don't wanna hijack, I'll get at you on YouTube. Thanks for the clips and the memories.

To the ladies, keep pushin'!

Gawtdamn those Samoans were crazy.
